The short answer? Yes. The long answer? We’re not USDA Certified as our standards are Beyond Organic. We believe that organic means a whole lot more than just not spraying chemicals onto food:

  • We are committed to 100% biodegradable packaging.
  • We never use GMO seed.
  • We never spray pesticides or fungicides (even 'organic certified' ones).
  • We don't use chemical fertilizers.
  • We steward soil life through no-till methods.
  • We pay a living wage to our 3-woman crew.

Our farm is an ecosystem that each plant and creature contributes to in order to grow you the healthiest, high quality food, flowers + goods.

Where can I pick up fresh produce, eggs + flowers?

We deliver to 6 convenient pick up locations throughout Buncombe and Rutherford county:

  • Black Mountain — Thursday 3-6pm @ Foothills Butcher Shop
  • West Asheville — Thursday 3-6pm @ Diatribe Brewing, Haywood Rd
  • East Asheville — Friday 3-6pm @ The East Asheville Tailgate Market
  • Swannanoa — Thursday 3-6pm @ Radius Chiropractic
  • Rutherford County — Thursday 1-7pm @ Encompass Farm
  • Lake Lure — Thursday 2-8pm @ Lured Market & Grill

What’s your return policy?

We package all of our items very carefully to avoid damage in shipment, but if any of your items were received damaged, please contact us within 3 business days with photos of damaged product so that we may proceed with a claim and refund.

We promise to get your order to you intact, and including all items purchased. If anything goes wrong, you can contact us directly and we guarantee we'll make it right.

We ship all of our farm grown goods including our infused olive oil, seasoning blends, wreaths and more nationwide!

Can I purchase a gift card/certificate?

Of course! You can purchase a gift card for yourself or virtually send to someone else here!

How do I know what's in the box?

Due to the hyper seasonal nature of the Veggie Box, and logistics of nature constantly changing, we do not publish anticipated harvests in advance. We understand that can be challenging for folks who want to meal plan in advance, but part of the beauty of the program is the surprise of seasonal produce and trying new things! I send out the list of produce you receive plus recipes to my email list every Thursday, so you will always have access to that resource.

How do I manage my veggie box subscription?

You can pause, cancel or edit your subscription through Local Food Marketplace at any time. Manage your subscription here.

How do I opt-out of veggies I don't like?

Use the OPT-OUT subscription to select from a list of produce items that you do not want to receive - they will be substituted for all future orders with an item of equal value. We ask that you try our veggies at least once before opting out as farm fresh and seasonal really does make a difference! We're always happy to hear from customers who thought they hated beets or radishes only to try ours and love them. For those with intensive dietary restrictions, contact us to see if we can accommodate.

How long is the season?

We harvest + deliver nearly every week of the year! Occasionally deliveries fall on holidays when our locations are closed, in which case they will either be rescheduled or paused for that week. The farm closes and deliveries go on hiatus two times per year: August 1st-25th + January 1st - March 1st.

How do I skip pickup?

Pause your billing to skip pickup on your schedule. Simply log into your account here and manage your subscription.

Because we harvest-to-order, pauses must go into effect 4 days before your Thursday/Friday pickup in order to avoid food waste. We cannot accommodate last minute pauses due to our harvest + delivery schedule. If you cannot make it to pickup due to an emergency, you can always send a friend to grab your veggies! 

How do the Subscriber Discounts work?

Veggie Box Subscribers receive discounted pricing on our entire product line - flowers, Farm Grown Goods and at the farmer's market! When adding flowers and Goods onto your Veggie Box order on Local Food Marketplace, which you can do anytime, your discounts are automatically applied and reflected in the reduced pricing.
